This weekend was so much fun! Friday was a more relaxed day while my host brother had some friends over to celebrate his birthday. We ate so much pizza, I don't think I've ever eaten as much pizza as I have here in Brazil .
Vanessa from Venezuela came over yesterday and it was so much fun! My host dad took us to the club in the city next to us because I have never been. It was so much fun, we made so many new friends. It's crazy that it took me 10 months almost to get there. We got to meet the DJ's and everything last night as well. It was just such a cool night and I'm so happy that I got to go with Vanessa and I'm so happy that we met the girls we met last night. I'll definitely miss experiences like these when I get home.
Today is Mother's Day and it's nice. It's not really the same as Mother's Day in the US with my real mom, and I know it's not the same for my host mom here without her real son. But regardless, it was a good day. I spent a part of it sleeping due to the fact I almost didn't sleep last night, but other than that we went to the aunts house and had a really nice lunch there with the family. I am so thankful for all of my host moms here and for my mom back home. I love them all so much and wouldn't be the person I am today without them and their kindness.
On another note, my friend Jackson goes into surgery tomorrow to hopefully remove the tumors and to learn more about the situation. It'd be nice if you all would keep him in your thoughts and prayers. It's very hard on his family and the community.
