In my previous post, it may have seemed like I have had nobody here to help me, that it's been me doing all of it. That isn't necessarily the case. I mean, it is true in the case of you making decisions, planning, living your exchange, and at the end of the day, only being with yourself in a foreign country. You are the one who chooses your where your thoughts go and how you decide to act upon them.
In my case, I was alone for a while, and then I realized who all I had there for me, and how willing they all were to help me. I had 2/3 of my host families, I had my family at home, the other exchangers, and my amazing Rotary districts both here in Brazil and in the United States. I made the decision to talk to them. I talked about my problems and what I thought and we all worked together to come up with a solution. It was inspiring to see everyone work together just to help me, a foreigner, who they don't even know. It shows how big some peoples hearts can be and how amazing relationships can be in just less than 4 months.
I would just like to recognize this important piece that I left out in the last post. I am not completely alone. I have had help. But it is yourself to chose if you want/need help and if you don't. You are the one that makes those decisions, and that is where you are completely on your own.
